Photographs from the New York Buddhist Church 2005 Obon Festival held in July at Bryant Park, New York City. During Obon, we remember and commune with our ancestors. The Bon Odori dance is performed to entertain our ancestors and to show our respect and gratitude to them.

Photographs from Reverend T. Kenjitsu Nakagaki's travels in India in January and February of 2003. During his trip, Rev. Nakagaki visited many sites sacred to Buddhism, such as Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, and the Maha Bodhi Temple, the site at which the Buddha became enlightened.

This statue of Shinran Shonin survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, in which 150,000 people died, and 90 percent of the buildings in the city collapsed or burned.
